6 am. The alarm on her phone went off, beeping loudly to announce the time. Mal groaned and rolled over to turn it off...then sat bolt upright as she remembered why she had set it.
PRINCESS DAY!
She leapt out of bed with a screech. "It's PRINCESS DAY! Suzie, wake UP!" She bolted for the bathroom, repeating herself. "It's princess day! Princess day!"

Suzie was awake. WIDE awake. She had been awake for over an hour, laying in the bed, staring at the ceiling, willing herself to go back to sleep because she knew she'd need the rest. Lolli would need the rest. Well, maybe not... sugar was an adequate substitute for sleep for a six year old (with super powers), wasn't it?
She didn't need the bathroom but she jumped up anyway. “Princess Day!!” She went to the curtain and thrust it open, streaming sunlight in the room at other sleepy faces. The singing had already started. “The window is open, so's that door, I didn't know they did that anymore.. who knew we owned eight thousand salad plaaaaaates...”
It was way, way too early for singing. Suzie didn't care. Lolli especially didn't care, or wouldn't care, when she was here... as though she weren't here already. For a moment Suzie slowed down. Calm. Breathe. Everything was fine. It was okay. She would be okay. “Uh... yeah.. I'll wait until we're ready to go to change I guess..” There was no need to inflict Lolli on everyone as they were getting ready. After all, it only took her a few seconds. “Do you think, um... is six okay? Is that too far? Should I go farther?” She had planned on six, but though she was thinking about going back to four she wasn't sure about having enough control then. Plus... well. Other things would be trickier. At least at six she wouldn't need extra supplies. She checked her phone. Yep, the reservation she'd made for the stroller was all set. That would definitely come in handy by the end of the day.
Everyone else was still stirring, some covering their eyes from the bright sun. “Are you guys ready for Princess Day?!”

*Knock knock knock*
Mal bounced to the door and opened it. "HI MARKO," she called out with glee. "Guess what day it is?"
"Um....the day after yesterday?"
"NO SILLY," Mal said. "IT'S PRINCESS DAY!!!!"
Marko just stood in the doorway just looking almost blankly at Mal. "Coffee.....I need coffee."

Mal dressed quickly, throwing on the tee-shirt and jeans she'd had on the day before. She bolted from the bathroom, threw on her sneakers, and tied them furiously. The Piskey ran a quick brush through her hair, then called out, "I'm ready! Six is good! Let's gooooooooo!" It was possible she was more excited about this than Suzie, or than Lolli would be.

Suzie looked at Mal, and at everyone else still getting ready. She suddenly remembered that Mal didn't have to dress up because she was going to get a dress there... but then realized that she herself would because Lolli would appear in her dress. That was fine. “Sorry!! Uh I have to get dressed, I forgot... can you help Mal? It'll go faster.” She dug out some child-sized shortalls, a frilled shirt, socks and black patent Mary Janes (they were much easier to find in Lolli's size than her own) and tied her ribbon in her hair so she could untie it with the deliberate flourish that would, in a flash of light and sparkles, bring Lollipop Dreams.
Mal bounded from the door to the bed. “Lolli! It's Princess Day!!”
Lolli stared. She blinked once, then blinked again as the statement went through her head. That... but then... they were... it was... her eyes widened.
Then rainbows ate the world.
It was PRINCESS DAY.

Mal looked around, then grabbed the little girl's hand and all but dragged her out of the room, Marko in tow. "C'mon! You can have your coffee at breakfast!" ((I don't know how Princess Day is supposed to go, Lolli, so you take the lead here. ))

Once in the park (Marko gave a long, sad look at the Starbucks on Main Street as Mal pushed Lolli's stroller right on by), the group went through the castle and parked outside the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Lolli jumped out and it was hard to tell who was the more excited.
The boutique was a small shop with a big back section. In the front on every surface hung dresses, tiaras, shoes, accessories, and everything else a little princess (or prince; there were swords, shields and armor too) could need for a special day. It was almost as though a storybook had exploded.
At the back of the shop was the salon; half a dozen stations were visible, already filled since it was more than five minutes after opening, all of them with fancifully carved woodwork and motifs of birds, squirrels and other woodland creatures. Glitter was on every surface. Glitter was on the floor. Glitter was in the air. Glitter was already adhering itself to the group as they stood there looking.
There was so much glitter.
Behind the reception desk an elderly lady dressed in lavender and (somehow) even more sparkles greeted them with a warm smile, focusing on Lolli first. “Good morning princess, welcome to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique! Are we here for a transformation today?”
Lolli and Mal grinned at each other and (almost) shouted, simultaneously, “It's PRINCESS DAY!!” Behind them, Marko winced and nodded. “It's princess day...”
The lady laughed. It sounded like bells. “All right, I'm Kathy, come on with me and we'll get you all set up. And what is your name, princess?”
“I'm Lolli!” The girl grinned up at her like a mad thing. “And I'm Mal.” Kathy's attention was drawn upward, and the smile remained.
“Princess Lolli, it's lovely to meet you.” Kathy bent her knees a little in a small but respectful curtsy. “And princess Mal? Are we taking both of you?” When Mal nodded excitedly, Kathy smiled again. “Wonderful, it's lovely to meet you too. Come back to the back, I'll introduce you to your fairy godmother in training!”
Marko glanced back at the door as he followed the girls in. The coffee was so, so far away...

Brooke had already been up, eaten breakfast, and was ready to meet everyone at 6am, beaming at the excitement. "I'm...totally ready, yeah, duh!"
She was oddly subdued when they made it to the castle, the boutique, the salon, but she was smiling through it all, eyes full of wonderment. In a lot of ways it brought her back to her childhood. "It's so pretty . . ."
When the lady asked for their names, she piped up with, "Brooke here! I'm totally doing this too. 'Make me into Cinderella with your magic, if you please, ma'am. I very much would like to go to the ball.' " Her voice was faux-proper suddenly and she did a little awkward curtsy.
When the others headed back, she followed behind, enjoying Lolli's excitement about as much as she gushed about being there and doing it herself.

As they went back, Mal's fingers started twitching. It was a slight motion, but anyone who knew her knew what she was thinking. Her deep-green gaze settled on a curling iron on the station she was led to. It was ON. What on earth was the Piskey thinking?
"Don't..." Marko's voice was quiet as he stood by his girlfriend. He grabbed her right hand and squeezed.
"I was just..."
"Do you want to go to Disney Jail?" He half-smiled at her.
"Well...no..." She sighed and stuffed her other hand in her pocket, then smiled as her Fairy Godmother in Training approached.

Marko ran a tired hand through his shoulder length black hair. The older woman turned and looked at him. "Are you here for a princess makeover too hon?"
Marko blinked at her for a moment. Numerous thoughts went through his mind, every other one had to deal with the coffee he wasn't drinking. Why did Mal and Lolli have to get up so early. Still their excitement was a bit contagious. He smiled at the woman and bowed deeply to her.
"I am Prince Marko," he said grandly.
The woman smiled and clapped her hands. "Oh that's wonderful. Veronica! Come get this handsome young man a prince makeover."
Before the other woman led Marko away, he leaned over and kissed Mal's cheek. "Don't take anything," he whispered to her, then followed the other woman.

Akiko stumbled in with Brooke, yawning and looking around. At least she hadn't destroyed any furniture when she'd woke up in the middle of the night, but being at Disney hadn't made the nightmares go away, and it definitely showed this early in the morning. She bowed to the older woman, yawned, and mumbled, "Akiko. I'm with them." She held up her phone with the reservation displayed. "Do you mind if I nap while you work on me?"

Lolli couldn't even.
Every step of the transformation had been magical. From the moment she'd met her fairy godmother in training (a very nice young lady named Nicole), then she'd helped her choose a dress (she already knew what she was getting... she and Mal were going to be Anna and Elsa), when she'd shown her all the sparkles and colors and make up and everything, then talking to her the entire time and telling her what it was like to be a fairy godmother in training, and how someday she hoped to be a full fairy godmother and grant wishes for someone just like Lolli... and asking Lolli what it was like to be a princess, and what she was excited about. Lolli told her, her mouth moving a mile a minute.
Before she knew it, it was done. Nicole turned her chair toward the curtain and picked up her wand (which, when shaken, produced even more glitter). “Are you all ready? Can you say it with me? Bibbidi... bobbidi... boo!” The curtain parted, and there was a mirror.
It was so much better than Lolli had imagined it would be... and that was saying something.
Her hair was in perfect braids, exactly matching the ones Anna wore. Nicole had even woven a strand of white through one side. Her make up was just enough to see she was wearing it but not enough to be too much. But mostly, she sparkled. ALL the sparkles. Nicole just chuckled and shook her head and smiled down at her. “You are just so adorable I could eat you up... all right, upsy-daisy princess, let's go find your family.”
