Biography:
I was born in Galaxy City. I was raised in Paragon, I should know how things work, right?
Yeah, apparently not. My childhood was normal, I went to public school, all that. Grew up and studied Radiology at Paragon U. My parents died in a car accident while I was in college, but I got my master’s there. Worked for Crey while studying for my PhD—only that never happened.
See, Crey’s into some shady stuff. We all know that now, but I didn’t at the time. I came across some…information…that I shouldn’t have had. And worse, they knew that I knew. I was inconvenient. Even though I had no friends or anyone to tell what I knew…
Well, they tried to off me. We had these big vats of glowing goo in various shades…Radioactive stuff, mostly green. Stuff we had to wear hazmat suits around. I was unceremoniously shoved off a catwalk into a vat that conveniently had no lid on it.
So I should be dead. My looks were ruined…all the color leached out of the little bit of hair that didn’t burn up. I managed to get to one of the ladders in the vat somehow. I don’t really remember this part, but somehow I got out. Somehow I made it to the hospital. They did the best they could, but most of me was too far gone…
Anyway, chemical burns aside, my veins had turned a funky greenish color, like the color of the goop in the vat they chucked me into. My eyes glowed. And things started happening. Pot handles melting in my grasp, things like that. It was weird.
The icing on the cake was the day some jerkoff tried to mug me. I used to wear a mask and hood, right after the accident, so I wouldn’t scare small children. I guess in the dark I looked like a normal girl. Anyway, he grabbed me and held a knife to my throat, told me to give him all my money. I didn’t much care if I died, at that point, but scum like this guy needed a lesson in manners. I grabbed the knife, twisted his wrist back, and freed myself. I held up the knife and, focusing, was able to melt it. It glowed that same sickly green as my eyes. As the remains fell from my hands, the guy wet himself and ran away.
I’m starting to learn how to use this power, and project it away from me. I’m not sure how long I have left to live…but I’m going to use that time to help people.
