Marko stepped out of one of the shops in Disney Land. He smiled as he approached Mal. Reaching into the bag he pulled out a headband with Minnie Mouse ears and a pink bow.
"Got this for you," he said as he handed it to Mal. She smiled and slipped it on.
"Where are your ears," Mal asked.
Marko pulled a cap with Mickey Mouse ears out of the bag and put it on. "Right here," he said.
Together, they walked through the park, holding hands and looking at all of the sights. They took the chance to get several pictures taken with Disney characters walking around the park. At one point, they slipped into a photo booth to get pictures taken together. As the morning continued on, the two Fae realized they were hungry. As they walked the looked for somewhere to eat. They slipped into the Plaza Inn on Main Street USA for lunch.
During the meal, Mal and Marko's table was visited by several characters. When Captain Hook the pirate came to their table Mal's deft hand slipped into his pocket and withdrew a gold coin. As Captain Hook started to walk away, Marko called out to him. The pirate turned back toward the table and saw Mal holding the gold coin. He comically patted himself down in an exaggerated fashion, then in feigned anger marched back to their table. He looked from the coin to Mal then shrugged and pointed to her.
"I can keep it," Mal said guessing at his meaning. Captain Hook nodded, hugged her, then walked away.
After lunch, they continued their hand in hand stroll around the park. Suddenly, Marko stopped dead in his tracks. Mal continued walking until Marko's hand stopped her.
"Marko," Mal asked in confusion. She turned and looked at him, then frowned. "Marko what's wrong?"
Marko gestured toward an older couple coming out of one of the shops. Mal turned and looked in the direction Marko had indicated.
"What about them," Mal asked.
"Look at them," Marko said.
Mal looked from the couple then to Marko, then back to the couple. She finally turned back to Marko. "The woman....she kind of looks like you. Especially her eyes."
"She should," Marko said. "Those are my parents."
"Your....parents," Mal asked. "Are you going to go talk to them?"
Marko frowned, looked down at the ground, then back to Mal. "I don't know. Do you think I should?"
Mal slowly shook her head. "No. I don't think it would be a good idea."
Marko looked back at his parents then nodded. "You're right. Better if we just move on."
They turned to continue walking when a voice called out. "Marko?"
The pair turned back and saw the couple walking toward them. Suddenly the decision had been made for them. The older couple approached and the woman reached out a tentative hand toward Marko's face.
"Marko, it IS you!" Suddenly the woman threw her arms around Marko and held him for several moments. She stepped back finally, looking Marko up and down. "You've grown into quite a handsome young man. And who is this pretty young lady with you?"
"This is Mal," Marko said. "My girlfriend. Mal, these are my parents."
